"Мельгунівський курган" — видатна пам'ятка археології, найдавніший курган степової Скіфії. Від дати його розкопок веде відлік не лише скіфська, а й вся вітчизняна археологія. Курган досліджували у 1763 році. У верхній частині насипу виявили кам'яну стелу з відбитою головою. Такі ідоли — втілені у камені образи воїнів-героїв чи родоначальників. Встановлюючи їх на вершечках курганів, кочовики не лише відображали власні релігійні погляди, а й фактично позначали належність території до скіфських поховань. Неподалік від статуї виявили кам'яну скриню з золотими речами, яка ввійшла у науковий обіг як Мельгуновський скарб. Одна зі знахідок Мельгуновського кургану "Лита Могила" — скіфський золотий орел, який є центральною фігурою геральдичних символів Кіровоградської області — герба та прапора.

"Melgunovsky mound" - an outstanding archeological monument, the oldest mound of steppe Scythia. Not only Scythian, but also all domestic archeology counts down from the date of its excavations. The mound was explored in 1763. A stone stele with a severed head was found in the upper part of the embankment. Such idols are images of heroic warriors or ancestors embodied in stone. By placing them on the tops of mounds, the nomads not only reflected their own religious views, but also actually indicated that the territory belonged to Scythian burials. Not far from the statue they found a stone chest with gold things, which entered into scientific circulation as Melgunov's treasure. One of the finds of the Melgunov mound "Lita Mohyla" is a Scythian golden eagle, which is the central figure of the heraldic symbols of the Kirovohrad region - the coat of arms and the flag.

Золото скіфів - "Оберіги степу" / Gold of the Scythians - "Amulets of wild field"

Одним з символів й оберегів скіфського степу є Кам'яні Баби (Кам'яні Стелли, Боввани) – монументальні кам'яні скульптури, які з'явилися на території сучасної України понад 6000 років тому. Кам'яні статуї або Баби поширені в степовій смузі Європи і Азії від Монголії до Німеччини. Саме слово «баба» тлумачиться з санскриту як - "душа", "предок", "батько", "старійшина".

Кам’яні баби були для наших пращурів і будуть для нащадків символом Дикого Поля, в якому квітла відвага кімерійців і половців, героїзм скіфів і нестримна воля козаків. Без бовванів українські степи обезголовлені, тому, якщо ми прагнемо відродити велич наших Предків у нас самих, варто почати з відновлення втраченого Великого Лугу та охоронців Степу - 

Кам’яних Баб...

One of the symbols and talismans of the Scythian steppe is the Stone Baba (Stone Stella, Bovvani) - monumental stone sculptures that appeared on the territory of modern Ukraine more than 6000 years ago. Stone statues or Baba are common in the steppe zone of Europe and Asia from Mongolia to Germany. The very word "baba" is interpreted from Sanskrit as - "soul", "ancestor", "father", "elder". Note that the stone women were for our ancestors and, I hope, will be for posterity - a symbol of the Wild Field, which flourished the courage of the Cimmerians and Polovtsians, the heroism of the Scythians and the unbridled will of the Cossacks. Without steppes, the Ukrainian steppes are beheaded, so if we want to revive the greatness of our ancestors in ourselves, we should start with the restoration of the lost Great Meadow and the guardians of the Steppe - Stone Women...

Золото скіфів - Грифон / Gold of the Scythians - Griffin

Грифон – фантастична, міфічна істота, що символізує у скіфів панування над двома сферами буття: землею (лев) і повітрям (орел). Образ грифона об’єднував символіку орла (швидкість) і лева (сила, відвага). Поєднання двох найголовніших тварин вказує на загальний сприятливий характер істоти – грифон уособлює Сонце, силу, пильність, відплату. Міфічні грифони в стародавній Скіфії охороняли накопичені скіфами скарби.

The griffin is a fantastic, mythical creature that symbolizes the Scythians' domination over two spheres of life: the earth (lion) and the air (eagle). The image of the griffin combined the symbolism of an eagle (speed) and a lion (strength, courage). The combination of the two most important animals indicates the general favorable nature of the creature - the griffin represents the Sun, strength, vigilance, retribution. Mythical griffins in ancient Scythia helped to preserve the treasures accumulated by the Scythians.

Легендарне скіфське золото заворожує кожного, хто коли-небудь дивився на нього. Скіфські вожді прагнули максимального комфорту в потойбічному житті, а тому разом з ними в могили клали дружин, рабів, коней, зброю і, звичайно, золото. В українській землі похований не один скіфський воїн. Нічого коштовнішого за скіфські прикраси в Україні археологи ще не знаходили. Знаково, що усі найцінніші знахідки були знайдені саме на території Причорномор'я - Батьківщині скіфів.

The legendary Scythian gold fascinates anyone who has ever looked at it. Scythian leaders sought maximum comfort in the afterlife, and therefore with them in the graves put wives, slaves, horses, weapons and, of course, gold. More than one Scythian warrior is buried in the Ukrainian land. Archaeologists have not yet found anything more expensive than Scythian ornaments in Ukraine. It is significant that all the most valuable finds were found on the territory of the Black Sea coast - the homeland of the Scythians.

Дерево життя — поширений оберіг народного мистецтва. Цей символ у вигляді дивовижного дерева чи пишної квіткової рослини в декорованому вазоні можна побачити в орнаментиці українських рушників, писанок, тканих килимів та настінного розпису. Дерево життя — це образна модель гармонійного поєднання Всесвіту та людини, яка знаменує три основи світу. Яв — видимий та явний світ, Нав — духовний, який є уособленням потойбічного світу предків, а Прав — світ правил та законів, звичаїв та обрядів, за якими ми живемо. Дерево життя не перестає квітнути, тому крону завжди прикрашають пишні барвисті квіти. Деякі з них уже зів’яли, деякі тільки розквітли, інші чекають свого часу в пуп’янках. Кожна з квіток — різномаїття етапів людського життя. Стиглі плоди символізують підсумки людських діянь та звершень, а бруньки — майбутнє покоління. Верхівку Світового дерева зазвичай прикрашає квітка — «Вогонь Життя». Поруч із нею зображуються два світлих духи-охоронці у вигляді птахів, іноді «райські пташки» можуть бути зображені внизу біля стовбура. Коріння Дерева є невмирущим як і саме життя.

The tree of life is a common amulet of folk art. This symbol in the form of an amazing tree or a lush flowering plant in a decorated flowerpot can be seen in the ornamentation of Ukrainian towels, Easter eggs, woven carpets and murals. The tree of life is a figurative model of the harmonious combination of the universe and man, which marks the three foundations of the world. Yav is the visible and obvious world, Nav is the spiritual world, which is the personification of the otherworldly world of ancestors, and Prav is the world of rules and laws, customs and rites by which we live. The tree of life does not cease to bloom, so the crown is always decorated with lush colorful flowers. Some of them have already faded, some have just blossomed, others are waiting for their time in the buds. Each of the flowers - a variety of stages of human life. Ripe fruits symbolize the results of human actions and accomplishments, and the buds - the future generation. The top of the World Tree is usually decorated with a flower - "Fire of Life". Next to it are depicted two light guard spirits in the form of birds, sometimes "birds of paradise" can be depicted at the bottom of the trunk. The roots of the Tree are as immortal as life itself.
