Тризуб - український національний герб, герб України у формі золотого тризубця особливої форми на синьому полі; у минулому - герб князів Рюриковичів і Київської держави.
Цікаві варіанти розв’язання проблеми походження і суті тризуба пропонуються філософськими гіпотезами. Вони трактують цей знак не як дзеркальне чи стилізоване позначення предмета,
а як символічне зображення ідеї, поняття або явища.
Є думка, що тризуб Володимира - це символ ідеї державної влади. За іншими версіями - символ влади над трьома світами - небесним, земним і підземним, або ж символ-ключ до розуміння алфавітів земної писемності. Дехто припускає, що тризуб це знак «Шу» («Шукання»), тобто нагадування про закони природи з метою підвищення людської активності та відповідальності за свій розвиток.
