ТОПОЛЯ — символ дерева життя; оберіг українців; символ рідної землі, свободи, України; дівочої та жіночої краси, стрункості, гнучкості, смутку, самотності; результат міфічного перетворення дівчини, жінки в дерево. Тополя може символізувати воду й вогонь, місяць і сонце, адже листя має різні відтінки зеленого: знизу світлозелений (вода, місяць), зверху темнозелений (вогонь, сонце). Давні греки вважали, що тополя благотворно впливає на самопочуття людини, на її настрій. Вони обсаджували тополями місця, де відбувалися багатолюдні народні збори, а також саджали це дерево поблизу житла. Тому з легкої руки вченого Карла Ліннея за цим деревом і закріпилася наукова назва «популюс», що грецькою мовою означає «народна».

Також деревина тополі добре обробляється, стружечка лягає рівненько - той вискакують з заготовок ложечки швидко й красиво...

Древо Життя – це оберіг. Воно не просто символізувало гармонію життя, а також безперервне зростання і перетворення старого в нове, перехід на вищий щабель розвитку. З давніх давен багато народів використовують у своїй культурі символ Древо Життя. Воно є символом та оберегом. Згадки про символ зустрічаються ще у наших пращурів слов’ян, скандинавських народів, індусів, китайців та єгиптян.

Древо Життя має вигляд стовбура з міцною кроною та розлогим гіллям, яке сягає свого коріння. Коло, у якому знаходиться древо, символізує фундамент, основу всього живого.
