Flowers have been revered in Ukraine since ancient times. There is not a single Ukrainian house near which the caring hands of the hostess would not arrange bright flower islands. They are pleasing to the eye, tenderly touch the soul, firmly bind our hearts to our home.
Our ancestors adored flowers, believing that this work of nature was given to people by God. Flowers are constant companions of our lives. They are in flower beds, in a room, on lawns. They are on embroidered towels, tablecloths. They paint furnaces, walls of houses. And there are flowers on our national clothes. Flowers on a sheet and a corset symbolize kindness, sincerity of soul. Flowers on the sleeves of the shirt protect against disease, the evil eye...
