Ложка — головний атрибут столового прибору. Ще запорожці завжди носили її при поясі. Зберігаючи характерні риси в межах окремих районів і навіть сіл, різьблена українська ложка мала значну кількість варіантів. Тип її визначався різьбою держачка, який завершувався рибкою, рукою або зберігав на собі рівнораменний хрест, формою черпачка. Розрізняють ложки подорожні та монастирські, козацькі (ще батьківські) та чумацькі, пам'ятні та весільні, жіночі та дитячі тощо. Різьбили їх з груши, берези, клену (білі ложки — Полтавщина), липи, сосни.

Preserving the characteristic features within individual districts and even villages, the carved Ukrainian spoon had a significant number of options. Its type was determined by the thread of the handle, which ended with a fish, hand or kept an isosceles cross, the shape of a scoop. There are travel and monastery spoons, Cossack (still parental) and milk spoons, commemorative and wedding spoons, women's and children's, etc. They were carved from pears, birches, maples (white spoons - Poltava region), lindens, pines.

Скіфське золото / Scythian gold

Легендарне скіфське золото заворожує кожного, хто коли-небудь дивився на нього. Скіфські вожді прагнули максимального комфорту в потойбічному житті, а тому разом з ними в могили клали дружин, рабів, коней, зброю і, звичайно, золото. 

В українській землі похований не один скіфський воїн. Нічого дорожчого за скіфські прикраси в Україні археологи ще не знаходили. Знаково, що усі найцінніші знахідки були знайдені саме на території Причорномор'я - Батьківщині скіфів.

Бойовий дух закарбувався у золоті скіфів. На них зображали диких тварин, воїнів, елементи побуту. Динамічний і первісний стиль прозвали «звіриним». Золоті прикраси виготовляли як самі скіфські ювеліри, так і грецькі майстри, в яких часто замовляли роботу скіфи.

More than one Scythian warrior is buried in the Ukrainian land. Archaeologists have not yet found anything more expensive than Scythian ornaments in Ukraine. It is significant that all the most valuable finds were found on the territory of the Black Sea coast - the homeland of the Scythians.

The fighting spirit was engraved in the gold of the Scythians. They depicted wild animals, warriors, elements of life. The dynamic and original style was nicknamed "animal". Gold jewelry was made by both Scythian jewelers and Greek masters, in whom Scythians often ordered work.

Дерево життя — поширений оберіг народного мистецтва. Цей символ у вигляді дивовижного дерева чи пишної квіткової рослини в декорованому вазоні можна побачити в орнаментиці українських рушників, писанок, тканих килимів та настінного розпису. Дерево життя — це образна модель гармонійного поєднання Всесвіту та людини, яка знаменує три основи світу. Яв — видимий та явний світ, Нав — духовний, який є уособленням потойбічного світу предків, а Прав — світ правил та законів, звичаїв та обрядів, за якими ми живемо. Стовбур Світового дерева символізує земне існування людей, а його пишна крона — місце життя богів.

The trunk of the World Tree symbolizes the earthly existence of people, and its lush crown - the place of life of the gods.

Любовне “сердечко” походить від листка плюща, що виходять зі стебел, обвиває предмети, поруч з якими зростає. Стародавні греки і римляни вважали цю властивість плюща символом глибокої любові, кохання і прикрашали надгробки зображенням цієї довговічної, стійкої ліани. Мабуть, з часом значення символу трансформувалося, і він перетворився на знак вічної любові. Форма серця - символ любові. Червоне серце - класичний символ любові. Вираз пристрасті та романтики. Але також у неромантичному контексті для дружби та глибокої зв’язності.

The love "heart" comes from a leaf of ivy coming out of the stems, wraps around the objects next to which it grows. The ancient Greeks and Romans considered this property of ivy a symbol of deep love, affection and decorated tombstones with the image of this durable, stable vine. ТОПОЛЯ — символ дерева життя; оберіг українців; символ рідної землі, свободи, України; дівочої та жіночої краси, стрункості, гнучкості, смутку, самотності; результат міфічного перетворення дівчини, жінки в дерево. Тополя - символ дівочої краси, а також жіночого й дівочого суму, їх самотності. Тополя край дороги - це образ жінки чи дівчини, котрі чекають своєї долі чи свого судженого... 

Вона струнка і красива від ранньої молодості до зрілих літ. Уособлює тонку натуру, чутливу до впливу років та оточення: як з роками на тополі з'являється все більше засохлих гілок, так і людину з літами «обсідають» усе нові й нові проблеми - до невирішених старих додаються болючі нові, які вимагають вирішення. Так само, як тополя не любить рости одна, в основному, ми бачимо ряд тополь або хоча б декілька їх, так і людина не може жити самостійно: їй потрібна підтримка або хоча б присутність її рідних, друзів, знайомих...

Ложки з ключиком / Spoons with a key

На ідею створення ложок з ключиком надихнула книга Василя Шкляра "Ключ". До речі Ключ - символ багатства і збереження домашнього майна, а також честі та накопиченого досвіду. Цим ключем міцно замикали не тільки матеріальне, а й все духовне багатство людини. Мотив замикання, а звідси ключ і замок, в першу чергу стали використовувати в древніх обрядах охоронної магії. В основі - природне сприйняття замку і ключа як предметів, що забезпечують захист. Ключі широко використовували як амулет ще етруски і стародавні єгиптяни...

Свічник-Трійця "Алатир" / Candlestick-Trinity "Alatyr"

Здавна, саме восьмикутна зірка, звана нашими пращурами - Алатир (від др.іран. al-atar - "біл-горюч"), а не шестикутна зірка Давіда, була головним символом різдвяно-колядницьких містерій в Україні. Зірка-Алатир являє собою український колорік у вигляді восьми головних циклів: Коляда, Масляна, Великдень, Трійця, Купала, Спасівка, Рожаниці, Діди. Він же, восьмикутник, є характерним і для української народної орнаментики. Загалом, цей символ зустрічається у кожному напрямку народного мистецтва - в українських писанках, українській вишивці, народному різьбленні, витинанці тощо. Споконвіку, наші Пращури використовували восьмикутну зірку як універсальний оберіг у своєму побуті. У кожній хаті на Святвечір стояв Алатир - він беріг мешканців і відганяв лихо від оселі. У слов'ян існує легенда про біл-горюч камінь "Алатир", наділений чарівними властивостями.

In every house on Christmas Eve there was Alatyr - he took care of the inhabitants and drove the disaster away from the house. The Slavs have a legend about the white-burning stone "Alatir", endowed with magical properties.
