Верба належить до рослин, які здавна супроводжують людей. Поетична душа українського народу вловила той особливий ліризм, інколи навіть тонку мінорність, характерну для цього чутливого дерева. Як не згадати про одне з найшанованіших свят у православних християн – Вербну неділю, коли молоді листочки, що розпускаються після зими символізують нове життя.
